April’s NPD sales chart is in, and it seems that MLB The Show 21’s jump to multi-platform has been something of a successful move.
Despite being included as a part of Game Pass on Xbox platforms, Sony San Diego’s title has hit the opposition out of the park at retail and taken the top spot. Though the year is relatively young, MLB The Show 21 is the third best-selling title of 2021 so far.

From a platform-specific view, MLB took the lead on PlayStation platforms, Call of Duty: Black Ops: Cold War was out in front on Xbox, and New Pokémon Snap took the crown on the Switch side of things.
On the hardware side, $296million of sales were logged, equating to a 30% year-on-year drop over April 2020. A lot of that drop can be attributed to a lack of available hardware on retail shelves due to component shortages resulting from the COVID-19 pandemic.
The all-formats top ten for April 2021 looks like this:-
1) MLB The Show 21
2) Call of Duty: Black Ops: Cold War
3) New Pokémon Snap
4) Outriders
5) Nier: Replicant
6) Mortal Kombat 11
7) Monster Hunter: Rise
8) Returnal
9) It Takes Two
10) Mario Kart 8 Deluxe
