Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings continued its stellar box office run with another $13.3 million haul, good enough for its fourth straight No. 1 weekend. That number also helped the Marvel pic overcome Black Widow’s $186.7 million domestic total with a current $196.5 million. Deadline suggests the film could end up with around $250 million, which, given the circumstances, is a massive win for Disney.

Elsewhere, the only other high-profile release was Dear Evan Hansen, which crashed and burned with $7.5 million after a disastrous $3.3 million Friday. That puts the teen musical on par with Universal’s Cats, though the Tony-winning Benj Pasek & Justin Paul musical cost significantly less than that $90 million misfire.
All told, nothing too exciting to report. Suffice to say, the box office will soon heat up thanks to what looks to be a promising month of October which sees the release of Venom: Let There Be Carnage, The Many Saints of Newark, The Addams Family 2, No Time To Die, Halloween Kills, The Last Duel, Dune, The French Dispatch and Last Night in Soho.
