Studio Colorido & Netflix Announce Drifting Home, Watch the First Trailer

Japanese anime studio Studio Colorido has announced its latest anime film called Drifting Home.

Producer Koji Yamamoto, who produced A Whisker Away, announced the project during Netflix’s Tudum presentation. “The style of going from everyday life to a fantasy world, where you wear a cat mask and go to a cat world, we’d like to make it a signature project of Studio Colorido.” Yamamoto likened its style to previous films from the studio such as Penguin Highway and revealed Drifting Home will also have the same style of “jumping from everyday life to a fantasy world.”

“During summer vacation, childhood friends Kosuke and Natsume were playing in their soon-to-be-demolished apartment complex when a mysterious phenomenon occured,” states the official trailer. “The building filled with their many memories, began to drift away. Can they return back home? A summer’s journey begins.”
