CJ ENM has released the official Broker trailer for the forthcoming South Korean drama film, which hails from Shoplifters filmmaker Hirokazu Kore-eda. It is currently set to make its debut at the 2022 Cannes Film Festival and is selected to compete for the prestigious Palme d’Or award. Following its Cannes debut, it will arrive in theaters in South Korea on June 7.
The video, which you can check out below, features two baby thieves who steal a baby from a baby box, where people can anonymously leave their babies behind. Before going on a journey to find new parents for the child, his young mother has a change of heart and comes back for him.

Broker is being led by Song Kang-ho (Memories of Murder, Parasite), Gang Dong-won (Train to Busan Presents: Peninsula), Bae Doona (Sense8), Lee Joo-young (Itaewon Class), and K-Pop superstar Lee Ji-eun aka IU (Hotel del Luna).
“Sanghyeon is always struggling from debt, and Dongsu works at a baby box facility,” reads the synopsis. “On a rainy night, they steal the baby Woosung, who was left in the baby box, to sell him at a good price. Meanwhile, detectives were watching, and they quietly track them down to capture the crucial evidence.”

Broker is written and directed by Japanese filmmaker Hirokazu Kore-eda, who is best known for his acclaimed works such as Like Father, Like Son and Shoplifters.
