Production is officially underway on the upcoming Disney+ Marvel Cinematic Universe show Echo and a first-look photo has been released. It features the return of Alaqua Cox as she reprises her role as Maya Lopez after debuting in last year’s Hawkeye, where it was revealed Maya had a long history with Vincent D’Onofrio’s Kingpin. It will stream exclusively on Disney+ in 2023.

“Streaming exclusively on Disney+ in 2023, the origin story of Echo revisits Maya Lopez, whose ruthless behavior in New York City catches up with her in her hometown,” says the synopsis. “She must face her past, reconnect with her Native American roots and embrace the meaning of family and community if she ever hopes to move forward. ”
Echo also stars Chaske Spencer (Wild Indian), Tantoo Cardinal (Killers of the Flower Moon), Devery Jacobs (Reservation Dogs), and Cody Lightning (Hey, Viktor!), with Graham Greene (1883) and Zahn McClarnon (Dark Winds).

Episodes of the series are directed by Sydney Freeland and Catriona McKenzie. Executive producers are Kevin Feige, Louis D’Esposito, Victoria Alonso, Brad Winderbaum, Stephen Broussard, Richie Palmer, Marion Dayre, and Jason Gavin. Co-executive producers are Amy Rardin, Sydney Freeland, Christina King, and Jennifer Booth.
