Need for Speed fans already have a new game to look forward to before the end of the year, but they might have another release headed to their phones at the same time. The leak showcases racing that will look familiar to fans of the franchise, especially those that played Need for Speed Drift in 2019. That’s because, according to the Reddit leaker, the game utilizes a tweaked version of Drift‘s map. The gameplay takes its cues from Tencent’s own Need for Speed Edge, with the three currently available cars being able to drift and boost with added flair.

The probable developer behind the newest mobile entry in the Need for Speed series is TiMi Studio Group, a subsidiary within Tencent that has worked on games like Call of Duty Mobile and Pokémon Unite in the past. It is not the developer behind Need for Speed: No Limits, the current free-to-play mobile rendition of the franchise. Tencent’s Need for Speed games haven’t always translated to the West, meaning that this Drift follow-up could be locked to the Asian market.
