Ant-Man 3: Rapper T.I. Will Not Return For Quantumania

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Grammy-winning rapper and actor Clifford Harris -famously known as T.I.- is officially not reprising his role as Dave in Marvel Studios’ upcoming third Ant-Man installment Ant-Man and Wasp: Quantumania. This news comes after the musician along with his wife Tiny were recently accused of a number of criminal charges including sexual abuse, kidnapping, assault, harassments and more. The accusations were made by eleven alleged victims, who are represented by Atty. Tyrone A. Blackburn. However, all allegations were immediately denied by the rapper’s legal representative.

It is unclear if the studios’ decision to not include T.I. in the highly-anticipated threequel was due to the recent controversy or if the Ant-Man alum wasn’t really intended to be part of the new film’s storyline. T.I. appeared in the first two Ant-Man films, and his character was part of Scott Lang’s crew of ex-convicts who he met through Michael Pena’s fan-favorite Luis.

In Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania, Paul Rudd and Evangeline Lilly will once again share top billing as Scott Lang/Ant-Man and Hope van Dyne/Wasp, respectively. Additionally, Michael Douglas and Michelle Pfeiffer will be back as well. Michael Peña and David Dastmalchian seem likely to return, but have not been confirmed. Kathryn Newton will be replacing Emma Fuhrmann, who played a teenage Cassie in Avengers: Endgame, as well as Abby Ryder Fortson who played the child-version of Cassie in Ant-Man and Ant-Man and The Wasp.

Perhaps the most intriguing piece of Ant-Man 3 news came earlier in the year, when Jonathan Majors was cast as Kang the Conqueror. Kang is not a traditional Ant-Man villain, but he is an Avengers nemesis with the potential to be the MCU’s next big bad. Kang hails from the far future, and his comic book incarnation has repeatedly attempted to conquer the present.
