Universal’s We Will Be Monsters Shorts Make Their Way to YouTube

Fortnite hosted the first episode of Universal Pictures’ We Will Be Monsters short in its Shortnitemares Festival that took place within the game’s 2021 Halloween event. The episodes were doled out on certain avenues online, but now all four have been dropped on YouTube and Universal Pictures’ Twitter account through a compilation video.

The four shorts reimagine a whole host of classic Universal monsters in ways different from their usual portrayals. This includes Dracula, Frankenstein’s Bride, Van Helsing, The Wolf Man, and The Mummy. They tell one overarching story that eventually leads them into the world of Fortnite. Chemon Theys’ Frankenstein’s Bride was also sold as a skin in the game alongside more classic renditions of The Mummy and Frankenstein’s Monster, which all recently made a reappearance in the item shop.

Rick Famuyiwa, who directed a number episodes of The Mandalorian, directed this miniseries. Famuyiwa, according to The Hollywood Reporter, was chosen because of his experience working with Epic’s Unreal Engine sets used for the Star Wars show, in addition to “his vision for reimagining the characters.” He worked with VFX and animation studio Plastic Wax for around eight months within the Unreal Engine.

It’s unclear what he specifically had in mind for his reimaginations, but this series did aim to have a more diverse depiction of these monsters and set them in places around the globe. These roles have typically had white cast members, which is not the case here. Universal Filmed Entertainment Group President Abhijay Prakash elaborated ever so slightly on this approach.

“This is another manifestation of our monsters, and they have never been depicted this diverse,” he said.

David Dastmalchian Joins Cast of Christopher Nolan’s Oppenheimer

David Dastmalchian is set to reunite with director Christopher Nolan, as The Hollywood Reporter is noting that he has joined the upcoming cast of Nolan’s Oppenheimer.

RELATED: Oppenheimer: First Look at Cillian Murphy in Christopher Nolan Film

The highly anticipated film is already filled with a star-studded cast, including Cillian Murphy, Emily Blunt, Robert Downey Jr., Matt Damon, Rami Malek, Florence Pugh, and more. Dastmalchian’s role is currently being kept secret on the film that just recently began production this week.

The casting reunites the actor with the director who gave him his first-ever role. Dastmalchian appeared in 2008’s The Dark Knight, where he played Thomas Schiff, a role that kickstarted Dastmalchian’s career. Since then, he’s gone on to star in a variety of films, most recently James Gunn’s The Suicide Squad as Abner Krill/Polka-Dot Man, and Denis Villeneuve’s Dune, which saw him portray Piter de Vries.

Oppenheimer stars Cillian Murphy (Peaky Blinders), Emily Blunt (Edge of Tomorrow), Robert Downey Jr. (Avengers: Endgame), Matt Damon (Good Will Hunting), Rami Malek (Bohemian Rhapsody), Florence Pugh (Midsommar), Josh Hartnett (Pearl Harbor), Benny Safdie (Good Time), Dane DeHaan (Chronicle), Jack Quaid (The Boys), Dylan Arnold (You Season 3), and more.

“The IMAX-shot epic thriller thrusts audiences into the pulse-pounding paradox of the enigmatic man who must risk destroying the world in order to save it,” reads the logline from the outlet.

Set to debut on July 21, 2023, the film is written and directed by Nolan, based on the Pulitzer Prize-winning book American Prometheus: The Triumph and Tragedy of J. Robert Oppenheimer, by Kai Bird and the late Martin J. Sherwin.

Oppenheimer will be distributed theatrically worldwide by Universal Pictures. Nolan and Emma Thomas are producing through their Syncopy banner along with Atlas Entertainment’s Charles Roven. The film is being shot on a combination of IMAX 65mm and 65mm large-format film in multiple locations throughout the U.S. including New Mexico, California, and New Jersey.

The Batman: Matt Reeves Delivered Everything He Wanted to Do Despite PG-13 Rating

The Batman is set to premiere in theaters in just under a week, and although the film is carrying with it a PG-13 rating, director Matt Reeves still feels as if he’s accomplished everything he wanted to with the film.

RELATED: Matt Reeves and Warner Bros. ‘Have Started Talking’ About The Batman Sequel

In a recent interview, Reeves was asked whether or not he ever felt like Warner Bros. was asking him to edit material to make the film fit its rating. Reeves denied that and said that they were supportive from the very start.

“What’s so interesting is that they, and to me, the experience on the film, they have been so incredibly supportive and they loved, from the inception, the pitch,” Reeves told Collider. “Once I wanted to put it into this world and that I wanted to do a detective story noir and that whole thing, they were very responsive. They were very excited about that. I said from the beginning, to do a standalone Batman film, you really have to…There’s a long line of great movies.

“And so, the idea that you can come and just do another Batman film, it has to be a great Batman film. You have to set out to do something that feels distinctive and different and definitive. They embraced it the whole time. There was never a moment where they said to me, are you sure? Let’s not. They really leaned into everything, and I’ve had the support to do exact … I mean, I have to say, this movie is exactly the movie I wanted it to be, and they have supported me all the way through it.”

Reeves also said that the one thing Warner Bros. did do, however, was tell Reeves that the film was going to be PG-13 early on, although Reeves noted that he was still able to deliver everything he wanted to.

“So no, there was never really that moment,” said Reeves. “One thing they did do, which was my intention from the beginning, was they said, “Look, it’s important to us that the movie be PG-13. We want to make sure that we can get this … It’s a Batman movie, and we’re investing so much in it.” And I was like, “Well, in the Apes movies, I tried to sort of find that balance as well.” They were meant to be sort of … They were obviously spectacle and grand entertainment, but there was a level of intensity. I felt like in that same way, I knew that we could push the boundaries of what you could do in a PG-13 movie and still deliver everything I wanted to do.”

RELATED: Matt Reeves and Warner Bros. ‘Have Started Talking’ About The Batman Sequel

The Batman is directed by Matt Reeves from a screenplay he co-wrote with Peter Craig. Reeves is also currently developing two HBO Max series that will be set within the film’s universe. This includes a Gotham City Police project, and Penguin-centered series starring Colin Farrell.

Pokémon Scarlet & Violent Announced, Brings in New Generation

Even though Game Freak just released Pokémon Legends: Arceus in January, the studio has already announced its next set of games to celebrate Pokémon Day. The two titles are Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet, which both welcome in a new generation of Pokémon. The two twin titles will be coming out on the Nintendo Switch sometime in “late 2022.”

MORE: Expect GRRM’s Tone In Elden Ring, Not Another Game of Thrones

The Pokémon Company revealed the games through a trailer, which showed off the region, the three starter Pokémon, and more. The three starters are named (from left to right) Sprigatito, Fuecoco, and Quaxly. As hinted by its architecture, the title will also be taking place in an area inspired by the Iberian Peninsula, which covers both Spain and Portugal. The art for the trainers also came out, both with uniforms that imply that the player character might be going to school of some kind.

The trailer’s description also calls it an open-world game, meaning this could be more open than typical mainline entries. However, some have criticized the Switch for its performance or visual fidelity in the bigger regions found in both Arceus and the Sword and Shield games, meaning Game Freak will have to do more adjusting to get the aging console ready for a more open title.

The presentation also had some updates on some Pokémon games that are currently out. Pokémon Go is adding creatures from the Alola region on March 1. Raihan, Flygon, Skyla, and Tornadus are coming to Pokémon Masters EX. Duraludon is making its way to Pokémon Unite along with new limited-time battles. Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Pearl owners can go into the game and grab the Shaymin Pokémon for a limited time. Pokémon Legends: Arceus also just received a big update that adds new content. There will also be a new Pokémon anime web series that’s based in the Hisui region, the region from Arceus.

Meanwhile, Holland’s other box office hit, Spider-Man: No Way Home, continues to enjoy relatively minor drops as it inches towards the $800M landmark. The flick pulled in another $5.1 million (-31%) this weekend and while it has no shot at reaching Avengers: Endgame ($858 million) or The Force Awakens ($936 million), Spidey continues to enjoy sizable week-to-week results that make an $800 million-plus final completely doable.

The Channing Tatum vehicle Dog brought in $8.4 million in its sophomore frame, which puts its total at $28.2 million, while Death on the Nile earned $3.4 million (-36%) for $32.4 million total after three weeks.

Overall box office was down -38% from last weekend with the $58.5 million cumulative gross from all films paling in comparison to 2020 where Sonic the Hedgehog helped push the box office over $102 million. Hopefully, Matt Reeves’ The Batman (projected to open over $100 million this weekend) will be able to kick start the sleepy box office.

May Calamawy’s Moon Knight Character Revealed in New Still

Many characters in Marvel Studios’ upcoming Moon Knight have yet to be revealed, but now, we do know who actress May Calamawy is set to play in the series.

RELATED: Moon Knight Images Show Khonshu, New Looks at Disney+ Show

In a new image released by Disney, Calamawy can be seen standing next to Oscar Isaac’s Marc Spector/Steven Grant. In a caption associated with the image, Disney reveals Calamawy to be playing Layla El-Faouly.

May Calamawy’s Moon Knight Character Revealed in New Still

As far as Marvel comics go, El-Faouly doesn’t seem to be an actual character to have appeared in the Moon Knight books, although it’s highly likely that she is a combination of several characters to have appeared in the series in the past. Marvel is no stranger to taking characters and merging them into one, so Calamawy’s character being wholly original wouldn’t be too shocking.

Marvel Studios’ upcoming Disney+ series Moon Knight will feature the introduction of Golden Globe winner Oscar Isaac in the titular role of Marc Spector, which marks the iconic superhero’s live-action debut and is expected to be featured in future MCU films.

“It follows Steven Grant, a mild-mannered gift-shop employee, who becomes plagued with blackouts and memories of another life,” says the official synopsis. “Steven discovers he has dissociative identity disorder and shares a body with mercenary Marc Spector. As Steven/Marc’s enemies converge upon them, they must navigate their complex identities while thrust into a deadly mystery among the powerful gods of Egypt. ”

The series will also star Oscar nominee Ethan Hawke as Arthur Harrow, May Calamawy, and the late Gaspard Ulliel as Midnight Man. Isaac is also serving as an executive producer.

Moon Knight is written and developed by head writer Jeremy Slater (The Umbrella Academy), based on the character created by Doug Moench and Don Perlin. The episodes are directed by Egyptian filmmaker Mohamed Diab and Synchronic duo Justin Benson and Aaron Moorhead.

Loki: Exploring the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s Shakespearean Character

Loki, at his core, is a Shakespearean creation, gifted to the Marvel Cinematic Universe by an actor and director who practically bleed the Bard. Kenneth Brannagh has portrayed more Shakespearean characters than just about any actor breathing and Tom Hiddleston performs it as if he breathes it. Their background, fused with Hiddleston’s pure and instinctive relationship to the character’s most compelling flaws, manifested what we all know and love about Loki.

Every iteration of him … of which there have been many.

A Multiplicious Character Projecting Humanity Back Onto Itself

That multiplicity within a single character is Shakespeare’s creation; his gift to centuries of storytelling. He knew how to fold humanity back onto itself, analyze it, dramatize it, and project it back with a profundity that quite literally ripples across time. It’s astonishing how deeply embedded his work is within our innate understanding of storytelling. So much so, that those who don’t necessarily subscribe, but love storytelling of basically any stripe, actually do, and just don’t know it.

In that regard, the legacy of the Bard himself is a bit mischievous, and tieing him to my exploration of Loki, is a bit chaotic. Chaos, after all, suggests a paradox — the connection of two seemingly incompatible notions that are familiar and understandable when separate but create great conflict when combined.

Loki is the Norse God of Chaos and Mischief. He, himself, a paradox of what we commonly understand good and evil to be, combined into one soul. A reflection of the true nature of humanity, which is utter chaos. One individual who represents what we all know to be true.

“No one good is ever truly good, and no one bad is ever truly bad.”

Loki and Mobius - Loki

This lies at the heart of why Loki is such a beloved character, one so often dubbed by just about every writer out there covering the MCU, as its most compelling. We crave his redemption as we crave it within ourselves. Superheroes being dashing and relentlessly righteous has its own appeal, sure, and we love to root for that, too. But how often can any of us truly relate to that?

“I mean, honestly.”

Often we’re flawed victims of our own ambitions, woefully misdirected by “imagined slights,” and social media certainly makes a case for a need of attention.

We relate to Loki. He is our underdog. And he’s a damn good bit of fun.

Loki Is the Only Character in the MCU Who Conducts Proper Tête-à-Têtes

Thor and Loki - Thor Ragnarok

Defined as a head-to-head, or private conversation, of weight between two characters, a tête-à-tête with Loki is always fascinating, fun, or emotionally revelatory. He wields words, and the moment of them, like no other character in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. It almost doesn’t matter who he’s engaging with but there are memorable stand-outs.

Above all, of course, is the brotherly love/hate bickering between Loki and Thor. Regularly, they challenge the understanding that each has of the other, or simply swap barbs that ground one another — really as only a life-long friend can. There are moments where Thor pleads with Loki to see beyond his “imagined slights,” moments where he throws up barriers of wounded mistrust, and then, eventually, moments where he manipulates the manipulator, discovering that the best way to get through is to play his game. Love is inseparably infused in all three, and therefore, so much of our desire for Loki’s redemption is shaped by his tumultuous relationship with his brother.

Loki and Mobius - Loki

Then, later, this is reinforced by Owen Wilson’s Mobius — someone with a different skill set, and a different connection to the mercurial trickster, who can achieve what Thor tried to do for years. As we all know, sometimes it takes someone else, who we respect in a different way, to create sense from emotional chaos.

While these two, and their interactions with Loki, are most vital for the character, he has had other memorable (and quotable) exchanges. Black Widow and Loki’s mutual manipulation through the glass of that “impressive cage” in The Avengers, as well as with Nick Fury; Phil Colson and Loki’s entanglement, leading to the “death” of Colson, which created the literal catalyst for The Avengers to … avenge; and most recently, Sylvie and Loki’s unstable alliance that challenges their shared ability to trust and to be trustworthy.

What I beg of the creatives masterminding the MCU is a meaningful (and hysterical) tête-à-tête between Loki and Doctor Strange (the actors are very old friends). With the multiverse in tatters and Kang on the horizon, I would be shocked, and saddened, if this isn’t on the way. Perhaps also, a little reunion with the not-so-dead Phil Colson. They can bond and share fond memories of their multiple resurrections. I mean, sounds like fun to me.

Despite Questionable Actions, Loki Always Cheats Death … And We Want Him To

Loki and Thanos - Avengers: Infinity War

Loki has straight-up murdered people. And yet, we love him.

At this point, though, there are a good many murderers in the MCU, are there not? Black Widow isn’t the only one with red in her ledger; damn near everyone has at least some, these days.

With Loki, his anger is so grounded in relatable, foolhardy misconceptions that we’ve understood exactly where he’s coming from since the very first Thor film. He was lied to, “locked up like another stolen relic,” raised for a purpose he never understood and was isolated by, and therefore, manifested his own glorious one to fill the void. He truly believes he is the hero of his own story, or at least, can be with willful action; enough to square what he perceives as his father’s doubt in him. As an audience, we see that drive, and those hints of good in him, and quietly hope that they converge into something extraordinary.

I believe this is why the whole of the character’s fanbase has refused his death. Loki, as a character, was supposed to die several times. Written, in the script, as dead. Hiddleston fully believed it was the end. Contract terminated. Written, performed, filmed, dead. End of file, so to speak.

But the fans have vehemently rejected the idea every single time, forced the hand of the creatives at Marvel, and rewritten the character’s story almost themselves. Loki’s sacrifice, at the end of Thor: The Dark World, was supposed to be final, but when the film went to screen for test audiences, no one believed he was dead. Everyone theorized how he got away and played some kind of manipulative Loki trick, prompting the filmmakers to reconvene and reshoot the entire ending of the film.

Collectively, prior to the Loki series, the character had only been on-screen for roughly two hours over the course of five films (all of which tend to be upward of two hours each). Yet, he has had enough impact with fans to change the course of Marvel’s own plans. Quite possibly the only character of the MCU to do that.

This perhaps even inspired Loki header writer Michael Waldron’s own approach to the pivotal moment of the series pilot. Loki, confronted with the existential mindf— of witnessing his own death and the realization that his prior course led to nothing he expected, must take the hit, rise again, and rewrite how his story ends.

In a very relatable way, the character inspires. He loses “sometimes painfully” and yet still rises to the occasion of using it to his advantage. Every loss, therefore, deepens his meaning to the audience. Our desire strengthens for that next f— yeah moment when he overcomes — “Your savior is here!”— as well as our empathy for how much he deserves those moments.

Loki Is Portrayed By An Instinct-Driven Actor Committed to Empathy

Tom Hiddleston - Loki

Historically, if Hiddleston can’t find kernels of himself in a character, you won’t see him portray that character. There isn’t another actor, that I can think of, who is so committed to being uncool that it becomes cool. He does not learn lines and deliver them; he papers the walls of his entire psyche with his research, empathy, and personal connective tissue for a character. He gives himself permission to be in the thick of it, to care, to give it everything, to project his passion through imagination until it’s vivid and in focus. It’s tremendously generous.

Now, amalgamate that with a deep love of human multiplicity (it’s difficult to find an interview where the man does not quote Walt Whitman’s “I am large, I contain multitudes”), and there’s literally no one else that could have brought Loki to life as Hiddleston has. He understood the assignment because maybe he kind of is the assignment. An actor, in the purest of ways, exploring all the different things that we are, on our behalf.

Can you even imagine anyone who isn’t in tune with that portraying Loki? It would be so boring. Loki certainly wouldn’t approve of that. He abhors boring, as we all know.

In the Marvel Studio’s Assembled episode for Loki, Hiddleston describes the character saying “he plays all of the keys on the piano.” He’s mischievous, charismatic, witty, charming, and disruptive, but also profoundly broken, damaged, manipulative, and at times, even a bit unhinged in his anger fueled by heartbreak. He walks the mercurial line of sanity, and at least for a time delighted in its unpredictability, until it became predictable … and perhaps a bit lonely. Becoming defined by being undefinable will, after a time, erode any possible identity you could have had.

As an audience following this character’s story for over a decade, we knew that is what we were witnessing — a character teetering on the brink of total erosion. Our understanding of that is directly influenced by Hiddleston’s own understanding of, and empathy for, the character. We see what he projects from the interior, and a lesser actor, merely tapping into villainy, would not have the chops to do that. Ultimately, we want the character to win, in a different way than what will destroy him, because that’s what Hiddleston wants for him, as well.

Why We Don’t Need to Worry About the Future of Loki

Loki - Thor Ragnarok

For one thing, there’s Hiddleston.

Talent aside, the guy has devoted over a decade of his life to this character and regularly demonstrates gratitude for its impact on his career. Marvel, undoubtedly, loves him for that and collaborates with his understanding of the character quite closely. While it seems to embarrass Hiddleston quite a bit in interviews, he is called “Professor Loki” within the Marvel ranks. With this in mind, I feel it safe to venture: for as long as Tom Hiddleston is involved on an executive producer level with this character, it will retain everything that we love about him.

Loki, the series, demonstrated this with stunning precision.

RELATED: Disney+’s Loki Season 2 Sets Production Start Date

Loki and Mobius - Loki

All of the character’s emotionally defining moments are literally played back to him as things he, himself, has never experienced. And in this rare moment with a character, we as an audience know more about his potential than he does. We know that his brother actually thought the world of him, that he made mistakes (including casually murdering some people, but whatever, we’ll blame the mind stone), and that Odin, like him, had a flawed approach to achieving a glorious purpose. We know that he was truly an Odinson, and now he knows it.

From that point forward, within the established rules of the TVA, Loki has more of a clean slate than any of us could have imagined for him. An opportunity for friendship, self-acceptance as a flawed being that could become something more than a hero can, and apparently, a pretty damn good singer (“Very Full” was a Billboard-charting song). More importantly, he has the opportunity to use his experiences to explore deeper existential realities, perhaps in service of an even greater purpose than he first imagined. Straight-up heroes tend to not be terribly rich in pathos, but a reformed villain, who will never be any less mischievous, certainly can.

To that end, perhaps this is where the character, born of turbulence and tragedy, deviates from his Shakespearean roots.

He survives. Because that’s what Loki’s do, heroes be damned.

Outer Range will be led by Josh Brolin (Milk) in his first major TV project in nearly two decades since starring in NBC’s political drama Mister Sterling, which only ran for one season. Brolin will be portraying the role of Royal Abbott, who’s a Wyoming born and bred man described as a “kind of last real cowboy.” He is a man for whom home is everything.

Joining him are Imogen Poots (I Know This Much is True), Lili Taylor (The Conjuring), Tamara Podemski (Four Sheets to the Wind), Lewis Pullman (Top Gun: Maverick), Tom Pelphrey (Ozark), Noah Reid (Schitt’s Creek), Shaun Sipos (Krypton), Isabel Arraiza (The Little Things), Olive Abercrombie (The Haunting of Hill House), and Will Patton (Yellowstone).

“The series centers on Royal Abbott, a rancher fighting for his land and family, who discovers an unfathomable mystery at the edge of Wyoming’s wilderness,” reads the synopsis. “A thrilling fable with hints of wry humor and supernatural mystery, Outer Range examines how we grapple with the unknown. At the onset of the series, the Abbotts are coping with the disappearance of daughter-in-law Rebecca. They are pushed further to the brink when the Tillersons (the gaudy owners of the neighboring profit-driven ranch) make a play for their land. An untimely death in the community sets off a chain of tension-filled events, and seemingly small-town, soil-bound troubles come to a head with the arrival of a mysterious black void in the Abbotts’ west pasture. Wild revelations unfold as Royal fights to protect his family; through his eyes, we begin to see how time contains secrets held in the past and unsettling mysteries foreshadowed.”

A Madea Homecoming Interview: Brandon Black Talks Pivotal Scenes, Working With Tyler Perry

Tyler Perry’s Madea franchise is back with A Madea Homecoming, which is now streaming on Netflix. The comedy doesn’t shy away from important topics and focuses on the graduation of Madea’s great-grandson, played by Brandon Black, who also decides to come out as gay to his family.

“Madea’s back — hallelujer! Tyler Perry returns with everyone’s favorite character in A Madea Homecoming, the newest film in the Madea franchise set to debut on Netflix. Writer-director-producer Perry stars in the film that centers around Madea’s great-grandson’s college graduation, though the celebratory moment hits a halt as hidden secrets and family drama threaten to destroy the happy homecoming,” says the official synopsis.” “The film features all-stars of the Madea franchise, including Tamela Mann (Cora), David Mann (Mr. Brown), Cassi Davis Patton (Aunt Bam) as well as a guest appearance from iconic Irish actor Brendan O’Carroll, who matches Madea’s comedic prowess as Agnes Brown.”

ComingSoon Editor-in-Chief Tyler Treese spoke with A Madea Homecoming star Brandon Black about working with Tyler Perry, the energy on set, and his important scenes in the film.

Tyler Treese: The film’s really funny. So I have to ask, how difficult is it staying in character when Tyler’s just going off as Madea?

Brandon Black: Great question. It is extremely difficult. There’s stuff on the cutting room floor, I’m sure, of me just looking away, looking up, looking somewhere else because I was going to break. Tyler Perry is extremely funny. Also Cassi Davis who plays Aunt Bam is…we went home every night, talking about her, and how funny she was. I thought that that’s really how she actually is, and she was kind of just being herself, but then [I] had a conversation with her, and she is an astute actress who knows all of her lines, who’s got advice, and also like, kind of wants to party.

It was a great time working with them, but the two of them specifically were just really hard to, you know, they’re the funny characters, I’m supposed to be like really, having a moment and then they’re doing all this stuff. I’m just trying to just look just straight ahead. It was a really fun time trying to hang in there. I felt like I was on SNL or something.

Definitely and it really shows in the film that you guys are having a lot of fun. Your character has this big arc at the beginning where he is coming out as gay and he’s fearing this backlash, but his family’s super supportive. I thought that was just so refreshing not to have a big drama about it. So I’d love to hear your thoughts on that scene.

I thought that that was super refreshing as well. That was one of the main things that was important to me is, I didn’t want to be part of another, like…there’s a lot of coming out stories that are so tragic and those are real, that exists, but let’s also acknowledge that that’s not always what happens sometimes. Especially, you know, as we get further down the line in time, your family already knew, or they’re not surprised, they’re not let down.

This was one of those examples where they were like, “Oh yeah, we were waiting for you to tell us.” And I just, when I saw that in the script, I was really relieved to be a part of that kind of story, because I think we should put that out more. I really like that Tyler’s already got a large audience that’s going to see this, and they’re going to see that. They’re gonna see a positive reaction. I just think that’s really important.

All of the themes are really summed up by a speech you give at the very end of the film. Have you always been a great public speaker? What did you draw on for that scene?

Barack Obama [laughs]. Of course. I mean, I feel that Tim being, you know, going to law school next and wanting to become a lawyer, I feel like obviously, Barack Obama is someone that you’re going to look to with a little pink sprinkling of Pete Buttigieg, you know? So I feel like for me, I needed to make sure that I came across as composed that way.

As an actor, of course, you’re kind of public speaking a lot as well, but that audience is real. Like, that’s not CGI. That is a ton of people. So Tim is better at public speaking than I am. I had to kind of pull it together. I took a public speaking class and did not do well. So if it looked like I killed it, thank you.

“It picks up with Givens eight years after he left Kentucky behind,” reads the series synopsis. “He now lives in Miami, a walking anachronism balancing his life as a U.S. Marshal and part-time father of a 14-year-old girl. His hair is grayer, his hat is dirtier, and the road in front of him is suddenly a lot shorter than the road behind. A chance encounter on a desolate Florida highway sends him to Detroit. There he crosses paths with Clement Mansell, aka The Oklahoma Wildman, a violent, sociopathic desperado who’s already slipped through the fingers of Detroit’s finest once and aims to do so again. Mansell’s lawyer, formidable Motor City native Carolyn Wilder, has every intention of representing her client, even as she finds herself caught in between cop and criminal, with her own game afoot as well.”

The limited series will also be written by V.J. Boyd, Eisa Davis, and Ingrid Escajeda. It is produced by Sony Pictures Television and FX Productions.

Jeffrey Wright Confirms Filming Has Wrapped on Westworld Season 4

In a recent interview with Deadline, Golden Globe winner Jeffrey Wright has finally shared a new update about HBO’s upcoming fourth season of Westworld, confirming that production has already been completed. He also teased that the next season’s story will be more familiar to viewers than the last season.

“We wrapped last December, but I’m not exactly sure when it’s when it’s coming out,” Wright said. “Season 4 is going to be more of the Westworld you’ve come to expect and more digging down into some issues and some technology that is going to look familiar to us, as always. It’s gonna be exciting.”

When asked about the show’s potential return date, Wright admitted that he doesn’t know the exact date yet, but he’s “certainly” sure that Westworld Season 4 will make its debut sometime in 2022.
