Intouchables remake secures Kevin Hart and Bryan Cranston
According to Deadline, Kevin Hart (Think Like a Man, Ride Along) and Bryan Cranston (Trumbo, “Breaking Bad”) will co-headline The Weinstein Company’s upcoming remake of the hit 2012 French comedy-drama The Intouchables. Hart has been attached to the movie since 2014, while Cranston replaces the previously-attached Colin Firth.
Meanwhile, Variety is reporting that Simon Curtis (My Week With Marilyn, Woman in Gold) is in talks to direct the film from a screenplay adaptation by Paul Feig (Spy, Ghostbusters), with filming expected to take place sometime this summer.
The original Intouchables (see photos below) was about a wealthy quadriplegic who hires a street-wise minority from the projects as his caretaker. It grossed over $425 million in theaters worldwide throughout 2012.
