DreamWorks Animation and 20th Century Fox have released the first trailer for the upcoming Captain Underpants: The First Epic Movie! Check out the Captain Underpants trailer below!

A DreamWorks Animation release, the Captain Underpants movie was first announced way back in 2011 and is based on the book series by Dav Pilkey. The books, first launched by Scholastic in September of 1997, tell the story of two mischievous kids, George Beard and Harold Hutchins, who hypnotize their school principal and turn him into their comic book creation, Captain Underpants.
There are over 50 million Pilkey books in print in the U.S. alone. A dozen Captain Underpants books have been published in 19 countries and several have debuted at #1 on various best-seller lists, including The New York Times and USA Today.
David Soren (Turbo) is directing the Captain Underpants movie from a script by Nicholas Stoller (Neighbors, Storks). The adaptation features the voices of Kevin Hart (Ride Along, Jumanji) and Thomas Middleditch (Silicon Valley, Search Party) as George and Harold, Nick Kroll (Loving, Sing) as the villainous Professor Poopypants, Jordan Peele (Key & Peele, Keanu) as nerdy tattletale Melvin Sneedly and Ed Helms (The Office, The Hangover) as Captain Underpants himself.
Captain Underpants: The First Epic Movie will debut in theaters on June 2.
