After six seasons, Last Man Standing starring Tim Allen has been canceled by ABC
Last Man Standing has been canceled by ABC after six seasons, according to TVLine. The show ran for six seasons, totaling 130 episodes on the network, and wrapped its final season in March. Jay Leno guest-starred on the finale. Tim Allen (Home Improvement) starred as Mike Baxter, a conservative sporting-goods executive and father of three daughters played by Amanda Fuller, Molly Ephraim and Kaitlyn Dever. Nancy Travis played his wife Vanessa. His liberal son-in-law Ryan was played by Jordan Masterson.
Allen was the star of Home Improvement, which ran on ABC from 1991-1999 and starred in the The Santa Clause, The Santa Clause 2, and The Santa Clause 3: The Escape Clause. He’s also voiced the role of Buzz Lightyear in all three Toy Story films and will return for the fourth installment on June 21, 2019.
John Lasseter, director of the original Toy Story and Toy Story 2, will direct Toy Story 4. The story was dreamt up by Lasseter, Andrew Stanton, Pete Docter and Lee Unkrich, the storytellers who have been the driving force behind all three Toy Story films. The film is written by Rashida Jones and Will McCormack.
Toy Story 4 will be a love story with Woody and Bo Peep, and will pick up where Toy Story 3 left off, when Woody, Buzz Lightyear and the rest of the series’ toy chest of characters were handed down to a little girl named Bonnie. That’s all we know about the story so far, though more could be revealed at this July’s D23 Expo in Anaheim, California. The film stars the voices of Allen, Tom Hanks, Annie Potts, Patricia Arquette and Joan Cusack.
