Lionsgate has moved release dates, changed the title of the new Tyler Perry movie and more

Lionsgate has moved the release date for the upcoming film Robin Hood and changed and announced the date for a number of other films.

Robin Hood was originally scheduled for a wide release and IMAX date of March 23, 2018. The film has been moved to September 21, 2018, putting it up against Goosebumps Horrorland.

Traffik has a release date of April 27, 2018, which is currently unoccupied by any other film. The film from Summit Entertainment and Codeblack Films stars Paula Patton, Omar Epps, Roselyn Sanchez and Laz Alonso, and is directed by Deon Taylor. Investigative journalist Brea Stephens goes on what is supposed to be a romantic getaway to a cabin in the woods with her boyfriend, John Wilson, but after a chance encounter with a suspicious gang at a secluded truck stop, they find themselves unknowingly in possession of a phone containing proof of the gang’s sex trafficking exploits. Caught in the crosshairs of the relentless crew, Brea and John are left with one mission….survival.

Uncle Drew has a release date of June 29, 2018. The film from Summit Entertainment stars Kyrie Irving, LilRel Howery, Shaquille O’Neal, Reggie Miller, Nate Robinson, Chris Webber, Erica Ash, Lisa Leslie and Nick Kroll. It will be directed by Charles Stone III. After draining his life savings to enter a team in the Rucker Classic street ball tournament in Harlem, Dax (LilRel Howery) is dealt a series of unfortunate setbacks, including losing his team to his longtime rival (Nick Kroll). Desperate to win the tournament and the cash prize, Dax stumbles upon the man, the myth, the legend Uncle Drew (NBA All-Star Kyrie Irving) and convinces him to return to the court one more time. The two men embark on a road trip to round up Drew’s old basketball squad (Shaquille O’Neal, Chris Webber, Reggie Miller, Nate Robinson, and Lisa Leslie) and prove that a group of septuagenarians can still win the big one. The film will open opposite SoldadoI Feel Pretty and Tag.

Hellfest has a release date of October 12, 2018, putting it opposite First Man. The film from Lionsgate and CBS Films  is directed by Gregory Plotkin. A costumed killer enters a seasonal horror theme park on Halloween night and begins murdering with impunity in front of crowds of visitors who believe that his actions are all part of the show.

Lionsgate also announced a title change for an upcoming film. Tyler Perry’s She’s Living My Life has been changed to Tyler Perry’s Acrimony. The release date for the film is still March 30, 2018. It will open opposite God’s Not Dead 3 and the Steven Spielberg film Ready Player One.
