“A brilliant, new, interesting, artistic and very original version of ‘Baby Mine’ now resides at the end of our new live-action ‘Dumbo,’” Walt Disney Studios’ President of Music & Soundtracks, Mitchell Leib said in a press release.
“It’s a story we need to tell again,” Arcade Fire’s Régine Chassagne added that the song and movie are just as relevant today as they were nearly eight decades ago. “A lot has changed since 1941, and we are still on that quest to allow for all people to accept and celebrate who they are on this planet.”
The new version of Baby Mine will be perform by Miss Atlantis in film who is portrayed by Sharon Rooney, which will be featured in the upcoming film’s end-credits.

Baby Mine was composed by Frank Churchill with lyrics by Ned Washington. In the original animated film, the song was featured in a touching memorable scene that highlights the love between parents and children.
It was performed by Betty Noyes during a scene where Mrs. Jumbo serenades our titular baby elephant while she was locked in a circus wagon. The original song had also earned an Academy Award nominated for Best Original Song.
From Disney and visionary director Tim Burton, the all-new grand live-action adventure Dumbo expands on the beloved classic story where differences are celebrated, family is cherished and dreams take flight. Circus owner Max Medici (Danny DeVito) enlists former star Holt Farrier (Colin Farrell) and his children Milly (Nico Parker) and Joe (Finley Hobbins) to care for a newborn elephant whose oversized ears make him a laughingstock in an already struggling circus.

But when they discover that Dumbo can fly, the circus makes an incredible comeback, attracting persuasive entrepreneur V.A. Vandevere (Michael Keaton), who recruits the peculiar pachyderm for his newest, larger-than-life entertainment venture, Dreamland. Dumbo soars to new heights alongside a charming and spectacular aerial artist, Colette Marchant (Eva Green), until Holt learns that beneath its shiny veneer, Dreamland is full of dark secrets.
Directed by Tim Burton (Alice in Wonderland, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory) from a screenplay by Ehren Kruger (Ophelia, Dream House), the film is set to take flight on March 29.
