101 Studios has released the official The Current War trailer, telling the epic story of Thomas Edison, George Westinghouse, and Nikola Tesla’s charged battle for the future. The movie will have its limited released on October 4, followed by a wide release on October 11. You can check out the trailer in the player below!

Starring Academy Award nominee Benedict Cumberbatch (Avengers: Endgame) as Thomas Edison and Academy Award nominee Michael Shannon (The Shape of Water) as George Westinghouse, The Current War is the epic story of the cutthroat competition between the greatest inventors of the industrial age over whose electrical system would power the new century. Backed by J.P. Morgan, Edison dazzles the world by lighting Manhattan. But Westinghouse, aided by Nikola Tesla, has seen fatal flaws in Edison’s direct current design. Igniting a war of currents, Westinghouse and Tesla bet everything on risky and dangerous alternating current.

Katherine Waterston (Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindlewald), Tom Holland (Spider-Man: Far From Home), Matthew Macfadyen (Ripper Street) and Tuppence Middleton (War & Peace) also star, with Nicholas Hoult (Dark Phoenix) playing Nikola Tesla.

Written by Michael Mitnick (The Giver), the film is directed by Alfonso Gomez-Rejon (Me and Earl and the Dying Girl), with Basil Iwanyk (Wind RiverHotel Mumbai), Timur Bekmambetov producing. Cumberbatch, Adam Ackland, Martin Scorsese, Steven Zaillian, Garret Basch, Michael Mitnick, Ann Ruark, Michele Wolkoff, and Adam Sidman executive produce.
