HBO Max unveils trailer & premiere date for dramedy series Generation
Just over a year after giving the dramedy a series order, HBO Max has unveiled the first trailer and set a March premiere date for the Lena Dunham-produced Generation, which will premiere on the streaming platform with its first three episodes of its 16-episode first season. Created by Zelda and Daniel Barnz, the series is a dark yet playful half-hour series following a diverse group of high school students whose exploration of modern sexuality (devices and all) tests deeply entrenched beliefs about life, love and the nature of family in their conservative community.
The ensemble cast includes Nathanya Alexander, Chloe East, Nava Mau, Lukita Maxwell, Haley Sanchez, Uly Schlesinger, Nathan Stewart-Jarrett and Chase Sui Wonders with Justice Smith and Martha Plimpton. Recurring guest stars include J. August Richards, Mary Birdsong, Alicia Coppola, Patricia De Leon, Diego Josef, Anthony Kevyan, Sydney Mae Diaz, John Ross Bowie, Marwan Salama, Marisela Zumbado and Sam Trammell.
The series is executive produced by Daniel, Ben and Zelda Barnz for We’re Not Brothers Productions, Dunham for Good Thing Going Productions and Sharr White and John Melfi, with Sono Patel and Fernanda Coppel attached as co-executive producers and Marissa Díaz and Michael Cohen for Good Thing Going Productions serving as producers. Writers for the first season include Zelda and Daniel Barnz, Dunham, White, Max Saltarelli, Eli Wilson Pelton and Christina Nieves. Directors include Daniel Barnz, Channing Godfrey Peoples, Chioke Nassor, Catalina Aguilar Mastretta, Anu Valia and Andrew Ahn.

Generation is set to debut its first three episodes on Thursday, March 11, followed by two new episodes on March 18 and 25 and one more episode on April 1, while the other eight episodes of the second half of the season set to debut later this year.
