Peter Pan & Wendy Trailer and Poster Set Disney+ Release Date

The official Peter Pan & Wendy trailer and poster have been released ahead of the film’s Disney+ debut.

Set to release exclusively on Disney+ on April 28, 2023, Peter Pan & Wendy is described as “a live-action reimagining of the J.M. Barrie novel and the 1953 animated classic.” Director and co-writer David Lowery commented on the upcoming adaptation.

“In making Peter Pan & Wendy, we set out to craft a film that honors both the original J.M. Barrie text and Walt Disney’s animated adaptation; we wanted to invigorate our retelling with emotional sincerity, an open heart, and a grand yearning for adventure,” Lowery stated. “Hundreds of incredible artists spent many years bringing this film to the screen; I’m excited for audiences to see their work, to go on this ride, and to rediscover an evergreen tale from a new perspective.”

Peter Pan & Wendy was directed by David Lowery (Pete’s Dragon, The Green Knight) with Toby Halbrooks having co-written the adaptation with Lowery. The Super Mario Bros. Movie Release Date Moved Up

Universal Pictures has announced a new The Super Mario Bros. Movie release date for the upcoming animated film based on the iconic Nintendo series.

The new The Super Mario Bros. Movie release date is April 5, 2023. This moves the date up by two days as it was previously going to be released on April 7. 2023. This change is going into effect in the United States and “more than 60 markets around the world.” The movie will release in additional markets in late April and May, with Japan opening on April 28.

The release date change comes ahead of the announcement of its final trailer, which will premiere next month.

The Super Mario Bros. Movie is directed by Aaron Horvath and Michael Jelenic (Teen Titans Go!) from a screenplay written by Minions: The Rise of Gru scribe Matthew Fogel. It is produced by Chris Meledandri for Illumination and Shigeru Miyamoto for Nintendo.

The film features the voices of its all-star cast including Chris Pratt as Mario, Anya Taylor-Joy as Princess Peach, Charlie Day as Luigi, Jack Black as Bowser, Keegan-Michael Key as Toad, Seth Rogen as Donkey Kong, Fred Armisen as Cranky Kong, Kevin Michael Richardson as Kamek and Sebastian Maniscalco as Spike.

Exclusive Puss in Boots: The Last Wish Clip Delves Into the Sequel’s Score

ComingSoon is debuting an exclusive Puss in Boots: The Last Wish clip from the bonus features of DreamWorks’ animated sequel. The film is now available digitally and on 4K UHD, Blu-ray, and DVD.

The exclusive clip features director Joel Crawford, composer Heitor Pereira, and co-director Januel P. Mercado discussing the film’s score and how they found creative solutions for some of the score’s challenges.

A Bleaker Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania Ending Was Discussed

The recently released Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania ended relatively happily for its heroes, a move that writer Jeff Loveness said wasn’t always in the cards for the film.

For those unaware, the end of Quantumania essentially sees all of the main protagonists of the film making it out of the Quantum Realm, having seemingly defeated Kang after he is sucked into a shrinking power core. The film comes to a close with Scott Lang and his family happy, but with Lang now concerned about the threat that Kang warned him about.

Speaking to Variety about the film, screenwriter Jeff Loveness revealed that, despite the generally happy tone of the film, there were discussions centering around a much bleaker version. According to Loveness, one particular ending could have seen Lang and Hope van Dyne (Evangeline Lilly) stuck in the Quantum Realm. Ultimately, Loveness didn’t feel like it would have been satisfying for fans.

“It was certainly discussed,” said Loveness. “I don’t know if I’m allowed to discuss that. As we got close to production, we certainly went through every beat of that and thought of which ways to go. [Staying behind] to me feels a little repetitive. I don’t know if that would have been satisfying. That feels a little reductive to the second movie, like oh, they’re just trapped again and they’ll get out in the next Endgame or something. It would have not been as good if we repeated the beats of the second movie.”

Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania is now playing in theaters, and kicks off Phase 5 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Easton, the series follows the love affairs of Billie Connelly (Sarah Shahi), a wife and mother who struggles to balance her responsibilities with her desire for a more exciting life. Created by Stacy Rukeyser, the series also stars Mike Vogel, Adam Demos, and Margaret Odette. The show explores the complexities of relationships through love, lust, and passion. Season 1 gained a significant following for portraying the whole love drama through the woman’s point of view.

“Sex/Life is the story of a love triangle between a woman, her husband, and her past that takes a provocative new look at female identity and desire,” reads the official description.

Ted Lasso Season 3 Trailer Preview AFC Richmond’s Premier League Debut

Apple TV+ has unveiled the official trailer for the upcoming third season of the acclaimed comedy series Ted Lasso. The series will be returning on March 15.

The Ted Lasso Season 3 trailer teases the aftermath following last season’s finale, which saw AFC Richmond advancing to the Premier League and Nate joining the coaching star of West Ham United. The video highlights the team’s Premier League debut, as they continue to prove to everyone that they’ve got what it takes. It also previews Roy Kent’s new role in the team as he steps up to become the new assistant coach.

Ted Lasso is led by Jason Sudeikis (Saturday Night Live), who stars as the American football coach hired to manage a British soccer team despite having no experience. Sudeikis first portrayed the character in 2013 as part of NBC Sports’ promotional videos. His Ted Lasso videos had already garnered more than 10 million views since their release.

“In Season 3, the newly-promoted AFC Richmond faces ridicule as media predictions widely peg them as last in the Premier League and Nate (Nick Mohammed), now hailed as the “wonder kid,” has gone to work for Rupert (Anthony Head) at West Ham United,” reads the synopsis. “In the wake of Nate’s contentious departure from Richmond, Roy Kent (Brett Goldstein) steps up as assistant coach, alongside Beard (Brendan Hunt). Meanwhile, while Ted (Jason Sudeikis) deals with pressures at work, he continues to wrestle with his own personal issues back home, Rebecca (Hannah Waddingham) is focused on defeating Rupert and Keeley (Juno Temple) navigates being the boss of her own PR agency. During the most recent Pokémon Presents event, a new Pokémon Netflix series was announced with a teaser trailer. Titled Pokémon Concierge, this stop-motion series is a collaboration between The Pokémon Company and Dwarf Studios.

“Expanding the Pokémon world, the story follows Haru, a concierge at the ‘Pokémon Resort,’ and her interactions with Pokémon and their owners who visit as guests,” reads the series’ synopsis.

ComingSoon is excited to debut an exclusive Will Trent sneak peek clip for Tuesday’s episode, “Two Hundred Dollars and a Bus Pass.” The show airs on ABC at 10 p.m. ET/PT, while episodes can be watched on demand and on Hulu the day following their premieres. The episode was written by Karine Rosenthal and directed by Geary McLeod.

FUBAR Teaser Trailer: Arnold Schwarzenegger Leads Netflix Action Comedy Series

Netflix has released the first FUBAR teaser trailer and photos for the forthcoming action comedy starring Arnold Schwarzenegger as he leads his first major scripted TV project. The series will be available for streaming on May 25.

“Everywhere I go, people ask me when I’m going to do another big action comedy like True Lies,” said Schwarzenegger. “Well, here it is. FUBAR will kick your ass and make you laugh — and not just for two hours. You get a whole season. It’s been a joy to work with Nick, Skydance, and Netflix to give my fans exactly what they’ve been waiting for.”

The video provides us with our first look at Schwarzenegger’s Luke Brunner, a CIA spy taking on his final assignment before retiring. It also gives us a glimpse of some of the show’s action sequences.

FUBAR is created and executive produced by Nick Santora, who has described the series as “the most surreal project” of his career. The 8-episode action comedy stars Schwarzenegger, Monica Barbaro, Milan Carter, Gabriel Luna, Fortune Feimster, Travis Van Winkle, Fabiana Udenio, Barbara Eve Harris, Aparna Brielle, Andy Buckley, and Jay Baruchel.

“A CIA Operative on the verge of retirement discovers a family secret,” reads the logline. “Forced to go back into the field for one last job, the series tackles universal family dynamics set against a global backdrop of spies, action, and humor.”

The series is executive produced by Schwarzenegger, Adam Higgs, Scott Sullivan, Holly Dale, and Bill Bost with Skydance’s David Ellison and Dana Goldberg. It hails from Skydance Television.

Brie Larson Praises Iman Vellani’s ‘Perfect’ Portrayal of Ms. Marvel

Brie Larson and Iman Vellani are set to co-star in the upcoming Captain Marvel sequel The Marvels. In an interview, Larson praised the young actress as the future.

“Iman is the future,” Larson told Entertainment Weekly. “She is the perfect Ms. Marvel and the most incredible person and castmate. I’m so excited for her success and I’m so excited to see what she will do with her life because she can do anything she wants. She’s one of my favorite people on this earth.”

Larson went on to note that one of the reasons she took on the role of Captain Marvel is to eventually get to work with the Marvel Studios version of Ms. Marvel. Despite that, Larson said that working on set with Vellani hasn’t featured much in the way of her teaching the younger actress, but instead just being grateful for their friendship.

“A huge part of why I wanted to play Captain Marvel was because of Ms. Marvel and what that meant,” Larson said. “To see that character realized by such a brilliant human with so much potential is just a really exciting thing.

“I feel like the big joke is always that you’re being schooled by people younger than you, so I’m sure there are ways that I’ve been able to be of service to her, but also at the same time, she teaches me so much every single day. I’m just grateful for her friendship.”

The Marvels will hit the theaters on November 10, 2023, as part of the MCU’s Phase Five.

Harry Shum Jr. Took Everything Everywhere All At Once’s Raccacoonie Scenes ‘Very Seriously’

During an interview with ComingSoon ahead of the release of Legion of Super-Heroes, Harry Shum Jr. spoke about his iconic role in Everything Everywhere All At Once.

In the Oscar-nominated film, one of the universes Michelle Yeoh’s Evelyn sees is a parody of Pixar’s 2007 film Ratatouille. In it, a chef played by Harry Shum Jr. cooks with the help of a raccoon who is perched on his head.

“It’s great. I mean, the Daniels … they hit me up and told me about the story — I mean, first the bit, and then I was already in,” the actor said when asked about balancing the comedy and heart of the film’s “Raccacoonie” segment. “Then they kept telling me about the storyline and then they’re like, ‘It’s not long, but there’s a lot to chew on.’ I kind of rolled my sleeves up. In this universe, he is the protagonist of that universe. And I think we’re all protagonists in our own stories — in our own universe — in a lot of ways. So I just love that they did went from this ridiculous gag to something so heartfelt and really directed it in that way as well.”

Shum Jr. elaborated on taking the segment seriously while fully embracing its comedic concept.

“So I took it very seriously,” he stated. “I think all the actors in all their universes did that, and I think that’s why the film works on the level of being able to be recognized in so many areas of the film. I think everyone had that. I would never have thought that I would be acting with a raccoon — not just in front of me, but on my head and along with Michelle Yeoh on my shoulders. Paramount+ Schedule February 27-March 5: New TV & Movies

Steve McQueen’s 12 Years a Slave hits Paramount+ as part of the streaming service’s schedule for February 27-March 5.

On Wednesday, March 1, Paramount+ (sign-up for the streaming service here) will add the critically acclaimed 12 Years a Slave to its available content. The film tells the story of Northup’s 12-year struggle to maintain his dignity and hope for freedom while enduring brutal conditions on a Louisiana plantation. 12 Years a Slave won three Academy Awards and has been praised for its powerful performances and unflinching portrayal of the horrors of slavery. Avengers: The Kang Dynasty Writer on Making Kang ‘More Human Than Thanos’

Given his status as the next major MCU villain, it’s fair for Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania antagonist Kang to be compared to Thanos. Recently, even the Ant-Man sequel’s writer contrasted Kang with the Mad Titan.

While talking to Variety, Loveness was asked what he learned from working on Quantumania that he’ll be applying to Avengers: The Kang Dynasty, which Loveness is also set to write. The writer praised Kang’s actor, Jonathan Majors, and said they’re attempting to make Kang more vulnerable than Thanos.

“I just feel like we have such a great launching pad with Jonathan Majors. He’s so down for stuff. Every time I talk to him, he’s got a new insight,” Loveness explained. “We’re trying to build out new and engaging forms [of Kang] that are hopefully just as good as the ones we that we saw. I’m trying to make this a revenge story and a bit of a self-discovery story. I’m trying to make him more vulnerable than Thanos, more human than Thanos.

“I guess it’s the X-Men fan in me, but Magneto is maybe my favorite villain in storytelling. He’s such a compelling villain, because you just bleed for this guy and you sympathize with him so much. So I think we really have an opportunity to have a passionate, vulnerable villain on a crusade against himself, and the Avengers are in the way. That’s kind of the fun thing about Kang in the comics. The Avengers are more just a thorn in his side. He’s basically trying to handle his own shit, but it’s always like, Thor kind of gets in his way. He’s more about the bigger game. He represents a fun existential challenge to even the idea of superheroes — and if they’re necessary or not.”

Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania was once again directed by Peyton Reed from a screenplay written by Jeff Loveness. It is now playing in theaters.

Yuri Lowenthal Reflects on Portraying Multiple Spider-Men

Actor Yuri Lowenthal is known for many characters, particularly the titular role of Spider-Man in Insomniac Games’ Spider-Man series. But he’s actually played the character a few different times and recently spoke to ComingSoon about what it was like to play Spideys in multiple games.

The games in question include the aforementioned Insomniac series, Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3, and, most recently, Midnight Suns. Lowenthal noted that he was “honored” to get these chances and how the different teams have their own visions for the character.

“I just feel honored that I have gotten more than one shot in a couple of cases,” he said. “One of the things I love the most is working in a group with other people. With each iteration that I jump on, it’s a different team of people telling a different story. And so, inevitably, the character will be different. Even if I jump in with the same things that I did on the last one, it’ll shift. It’s a different story. It’s a different bunch of writers, and they end up crafting and they end up changing.”

He continued, explaining that he doesn’t necessarily go into it with something in mind that he wants to change, as that happens naturally when working with a new set of creatives.

“So more than heading into it with, ‘Oh, this is something I want to try differently,’ I love to see what they’re coming to the table with and see how that changes it naturally. It definitely helps ease some of my fear of, ‘Oh, what am I going to do different this time? How do I separate this from the last one?’ In the end, I rarely have to, because it’s not just me. It’s me and a bunch of other people creating that character. Then, of course, it’s fun to go, ‘Oh, look how he changed.’ So it’s been great.”

He’s even been multiple Spider-Men in the same game, as Insomniac famously changed the Peter Parker model from the PlayStation 4 original when the remaster came to PlayStation 5 and PC. When asked if that younger face would have changed his performance, he said that he doesn’t always get much of a heads-up of what the model will look like and that visuals are just one part of a character, anyway.

“Any sort of visual stuff that I get in the beginning — and I don’t always get something,” he said, “Most projects have done a bunch of sort of R&D trying to figure out what the look of the character is going to be. As often as possible, I love when they share that right off the top because it, of course, influences how my brain fires after seeing a specific image.

“So I think that visual part is an important part to creating the character, but it’s only one piece, and one piece that I sometimes don’t get. Sometimes I’m working on video games and they may have concept art for the game, but not necessarily for the character I’m playing. Or it’ll end up changing over the course of the development of the game. So it only has to be one piece. But it’s definitely important to me and I love getting that right at the top.”

Swarm Trailer: Dominique Thorne Leads Amazon Thriller Drama

Prime Video has released the full Swarm trailer for the upcoming thriller drama, which hails from Emmy winner Donald Glover. The video features a young woman whose obsession with a Beyoncé-inspired pop star somehow transforms her into a raging killer. The series will be available for streaming on March 17.

“It tells the story of Dre (Fishback), a young woman who is obsessed with a fictional pop star (whose oeuvre and aesthetic are very similar to Beyoncé’s),” reads the synopsis. “The show is a dive into Dre’s life, her fandom, and how it takes her to dark, unexpected places.”

Swarm is created by Atlanta vets Donald Glover and Janine Nabers, who described the project as an “antihero story” that will be told “through the lens of a Black, modern-day woman.” Nabers has also been set as a showrunner, with Glover directing the pilot. In addition to Fishback, Chloë Bailey, Damson Idris, Rickey Thompson, Paris Jackson, Rory Culkin, Kiersey Clemons, and Byron Bowers will also star.

The series will be executive produced by Glover, Nabers, Stephen Glover, Fam Udeorji, Steven Prinz, and Michael Schaefer, with Fishback serving as a producer. It has also been confirmed that Malia Obama has joined the show’s writer’s lineup.

The Umbrella Academy Season 4 Cast Adds Nick Offerman, David Cross & More

Comedian David Cross and Parks and Recreation vets Nick Offerman and Megan Mullally have officially joined the upcoming fourth and final season of The Umbrella Academy.

David Cross will play Sy Grossman, “an upstanding, shy business owner and family man desperate to reconnect with his estranged daughter, who will stop at nothing to get her back.” Meanwhile, the real-life couple will play the roles of college professors Jean and Gene Thibedeau, who are described as “a married pair of community college professors from New Mexico who wear sensible footwear and suffer from the most extreme case of deja vu this timeline has ever seen.”

This marks Offerman and Mullally’s latest collaboration after previously starring together on shows like Will & Grace, Bob’s Burgers, and the upcoming Party Down reboot, as well as films including The Kings of Summer and Smashed. Production on The Umbrella Academy Season 4 is currently underway.

The Umbrella Academy Season 4 will once again star Elliot Page as Viktor, Tom Hopper, Emmy Raver-Lampman, Robert Sheehan, David Castañeda as Diego, Aidan Gallagher as Number Five, Justine H. Min as Ben, Ritu Arya as Lila, and Colm Feore as Reginald. 

Season three introduced new characters in the form of Justin Cornwell (I Am the Night) as Marcus, Britne Oldford (Hunters) as Fei, Jake Epstein (Suits) as Alphonso, Genesis Rodriguez (Big Hero 6) as Sloane, and Cazzie David as Jayme, as well as an Existential Dread Inducing Psykronium Cube playing the role of Christopher.

The Umbrella Academy is created and executive produced by Steve Blackman (Fargo, Altered Carbon). Executive producers are Gerard Way and Gabriel Bá, along with Jeff F. King (Hand of God), Bluegrass Television, and Mike Richardson and Keith Goldberg from Dark Horse Entertainment.

Dead Boy Detectives: Neil Gaiman DC Series Moves to Netflix

The forthcoming series adaptation of Neil Gaiman’s supernatural comic book series Dead Boy Detectives has been officially picked up by Netflix. Before switching streamers, the project was originally set up at HBO Max for nearly a year since it received an official series order.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Warner Bros. Television decided to shop the Dead Boy Detectives series, due to the recent rebuilding of DC Studios. The project reportedly didn’t fit with James Gunn and Peter Safran’s current plans for the DC Universe, which included producing five inter-connected shows for HBO Max.

Based on the DC characters created by Gaiman and Matt Wagner, The Dead Boy Detectives hails from executive producers Jeremy Carver (Doom Patrol) and Steve Yockey (The Flight Attendant). The 8-episode series will revolve around two ghost children named Charles Rowland and Edwin Paine, who refuse to enter the afterlife in order to stay on earth to investigate supernatural crimes. The characters first appeared in Gaiman’s The Sandman comics in 1991.

Leading the horror drama as the titular duo are George Rexstrew and Jayden Revri along with Kassius Nelson as Crystal Palace. Additional cast includes Briana Cuoco as Jenny the Butcher, Ruth Connell as the Night Nurse, Yuyu Kitamura as Niko, and Jenn Lyon as Esther.

The Dead Boy Detectives series is written by Yockey, who also serves as the showrunner. Executive producers are Carver, Yockey, Greg Berlanti, Sarah Schechter, Lee Toland Krieger, and David Madden. It is a production by Berlanti Productions and Warner Bros. Television.

James Cameron Talks Superhero Movies, Wants a Woman to Direct Batman

Many directors have weighed in on superhero movies and their dominance in the modern box office — including James Cameron. In a recent interview, though, the director spoke about the lack of women-directed superhero movies, as well as his affinity for Thanos.

While speaking to TIME, Cameron mentioned that he could relate to Avengers: Infinity War‘s Mad Titan.

“I can relate to Thanos,” Cameron stated. “I thought he had a pretty viable answer. The problem is nobody is going to put up their hand to volunteer to be the half that has to go.”

The filmmaker then went on to discuss his previous criticism of Wonder Woman, referring to when he said the character’s outfit served “an objectified paradigm” in the past.

“I don’t have an issue with Wonder Woman. I loved the movie,” he clarified. “What was elusive to me at the moment was it’s OK if the woman wants to be beautiful and dress well not for the male gaze, but for her own gaze in the mirror, right? I had maybe missed that part of it at the time. You know, life is about stumbling and people push back and we talk about it and things get better.”

Finally, Cameron discussed the lack of superhero and action movies directed by women before praising his ex-wife, director Kathryn Bigelow, and stating that he’d like to see a Batman movie directed by a woman.

“It was necessary to have a female director own a major action movie, though Kathryn Bigelow had been doing that for a while,” the filmmaker stated. “She would have turned down any superhero movie she was offered if it was a female lead. And that’s the healthier perspective, I think, personally. Why not have women direct male characters? Have a woman direct Batman. Now, you’re talking.”

Cameron’s most recent film was Avatar: The Way of Water, which he directed and co-wrote. It features the return of Sam Worthington, Zoe Saldaña, Joel David Moore, Dileep Rao, Stephen Lang, Matt Gerald, and Sigourney Weaver. Additional cast members include Kate Winslet, Edie Falco, Michelle Yeoh, Jemaine Clement, and Oona Chaplin, alongside a slate of young actors.

Three additional films are planned, with Avatar 3 tentatively scheduled for December 20, 2024, Avatar 4 set for December 18, 2026, and Avatar 5 on December 22, 2028.

The Last of Us Episode 7 Images Preview Left Behind Adaptation

The next episode of The Last of Us is set to tackle the game’s “Left Behind” DLC, and explore the life of Ellie (Bella Ramsey) prior to the outbreak that sent the world into disarray. Warner Bros. Discovery recently released a batch of images to prepare fans for what they’ll see.

The new images showcase Ellie and Riley (played by Storm Reid in the episode) as they explore an abandoned mall, similar to the actions that take place in the DLC. Also included in the images are shots of Ellie laying in bed, as well as sitting in front of a desk and looking none too pleased.

HBO Max will release The Last of Us Episode 7 at 9 p.m. ET/6 p.m. PT on Sunday, February 26. Directed by Liza Johnson from a script penned by Neil Druckmann, the episode is titled “Left Behind.” Johnson’s credits include episodes of several popular shows, including American Horror Story, Silicon Valley, and What We Do in the Shadows. While HBO Max hasn’t released an official synopsis for the episode, fans who played the game already know “Left Behind” will show a pivotal part of Ellie’s story.

“The live-action series takes place 20 years after modern civilization has been destroyed,” reads the series synopsis. “Joel and Ellie, a pair connected through the harshness of the world they live in, are forced to endure brutal circumstances and ruthless killers on a trek across a post-pandemic America.”
