Oppenheimer Runtime Reveals It’s Christopher Nolan’s Longest Movie

The Oppenheimer runtime for Universal Pictures’ newest biographical thriller drama has been teased by acclaimed filmmaker Christopher Nolan.

In recent interview with Total Film, Nolan confirmed that the upcoming Cillian Murphy-led movie will have a much longer runtime than 2014’s sci-fi drama Interstellar, which holds a total running time of 169 minutes.

“It’s slightly longer than the longest we’ve done,” Nolan said of the Oppenheimer runtime. “It’s kissing three hours.”

What to Expect in Oppenheimer?

“The IMAX-shot epic thriller thrusts audiences into the pulse-pounding paradox of the enigmatic man who must risk destroying the world in order to save it,” reads the logline

Oppenheimer features a star-studded ensemble led by Cillian Murphy as J. Robert Oppenheimer, who’s known as the father of the Atomic Bomb. Joining him are Emily Blunt as Katherine Oppenheimer, Robert Downey Jr. as Lewis Strauss, Matt Damon as General Leslie Groves Jr., Florence Pugh as Jean Tatlock, Josh Hartnett as Ernest Lawrence, Benny Safdie as Edward Teller, and Michael Angarano as Robert Serber.
