Peyton List takes female lead in The CW’s Frequency
Deadline is reporting that actress Peyton List (“The Flash,” “Mad Men”) has landed the female lead in Frequency, The CW’s series adaptation of the Gregory Hoblit-directed time travel thriller from 2000 that starred Jim Caviezel and Dennis Quaid.
Written by “Supernatural” showrunner Jeremy Carver, the new series focuses on a female police detective in 2016 named Raimy (List), who discovers she can speak via ham radio with her father, Detective Frank Sullivan (Riley Smith), who has been deceased for twenty years. The estranged pair form a new bond while working to solve a murder case, but the ‘butterfly effect’ wreaks havoc in the present day. Mekhi Phifer co-stars as Lt. Satch DeLeon.
The television version of Frequency is set up at Warner Bros. Television with Carver and Toby Emmerich executive producing alongside Jennifer Gwartz, Dan Lin and John Rickard.
List was most recently seen in ABC’s short-lived drama series “Blood & Oil.”
