The first Ratchet and Clank commercials bring the game to life
Gramercy Pictures has debuted the first two Ratchet and Clank commercials for the movie opening in theaters on April 29.
A CG-animated movie based on the iconic PlayStation video game, the Ratchet and Clank movie follows two unlikely heroes as they struggle to stop a vile alien named Chairman Drek from destroying every planet in the Solana Galaxy. Ratchet is the last of his kind, a foolhardy “lombax” who has grown up alone on a backwater planet with no family of his own. Clank is a pint-sized robot with more brains than brawn. When the two stumble upon a dangerous weapon capable of destroying entire planets, they must join forces with a team of colorful heroes called The Galactic Rangers in order to save the galaxy. Along the way, they will learn about heroism, friendship, and the importance of discovering one’s own identity.
Directed Kevin Munroe and co-directed by Jericca Cleland, the Ratchet and Clank movie was also scripted by Munroe alongside T.J. Fixman and Gerry Swallow. The voice cast includes Paul Giamatti (American Splendor, Love & Mercy), John Goodman (The Big Lebowski, The Monuments Men), Bella Thorne (The DUFF, Alexander and Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day), Rosario Dawson (“Marvel’s Daredevil,” Sin City), Jim Ward (WALL-E, “The Fairly Oddparents”) James Arnold Taylor (“Johnny Test,” “Star Wars: The Clone Wars”), David Kaye (Up, “Marvel’s Avengers Assemble”), Armin Shimerman (“Star Trek: Deep Space Nine,” “Buffy the Vampire Slayer”) and Sylvester Stallone (The Expendables, Creed).
