Anna Torv to headline David Fincher’s Netflix series Mind Hunter

According to The Hollywood Reporter, “Fringe” star Anna Torv is set to headline producer David Fincher’s Mind Hunter, a new crime drama for Netflix. She will play a psychologist named Wendy, joining the already-cast Jonathan Groff (“Looking”) in the series.

In the works since 2010 — originally at HBO — Fincher and Charlize Theron are executive producing, with screenwriter Joe Penhall (The Road) on hand to pen the adaptation of the book “Mind Hunter: Inside the FBI’s Elite Serial Crime Unit,” by John Douglas and Mark Olshaker. 

While the true crime book recounts Douglas’ experiences as a top FBI investigator of serial killers and rapists, as well as the profiling techniques he developed, the 1979-set series is said to revolve around two special agents, including Holden (Groff), who interview serial killers in order to solve current murder cases.
