Chris Evans on Captain America: Civil War

Captain America has come a long way, from a teenager eager to serve his country in Marvel‘s Captain America: The First Avenger, to a conscientious objector in Captain America: The Winter Soldier. But he may not be able to come back from the events of Captain America: Civil War, in which the superhero finally takes arms against the United Nations with a whole team of Avengers by his side, placing him in direct opposition with Iron Man. Battle lines will be drawn, punches will be thrown, and audiences will be forced to ask whose side they’re really on.

ComingSoon.net recently sat down with Captain America himself, Chris Evans, to talk about Captain America: Civil War and the film’s central conflict, between Tony Stark and Steve Rogers. It’s a battle of ideologies that is bound to be interpreted by audiences as a clash of contemporary values, and in an election year it may be worth listening to what Chris Evans has to say about why the war being waged on camera has very little in common with the recent presidential debates. We also discussed Chris Evans’ off-camera relationship with Robert Downey Jr., and whether the cast members played Red Rover while they were all lining up for their big brawl in Captain America: Civil War’s epic action centerpiece.

Whose side are you on…?
