ABC orders Suzanne Martin & Hazy Mills comedy Freedom

According to Deadline, ABC has given a put pilot commitment to the multi-camera comedy Freedom from writer-producer Suzanne Martin, Sean Hayes and Todd Milliner via their Hazy Mills production company, and Universal TV.

The plot follows five different women who are chosen for early release from prison and must now figure out what to do with their newfound freedom.

Martin will executive produce the series, continuing her hot streak that includes shows such as Hot in Cleveland, The Soul Man, Crowded, and an untitled multi-camera comedy with Jim Jeffries and Hazy Mills that recently received a put pilot commitment.

Hazy Mills is also producing the CIA drama The Translator’s Daughter for NBC.
