Severance: Adam Scott to star in Ben Stiller’s new Apple TV+ series
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Apple TV+ has given a straight-to-series order for Emmy winner Ben Stiller’s thriller drama series titled Severance with Big Little Lies actor Adam Scott attached to play the leading role. The series will be directed and executive produced by Stiller, which marks his latest TV project since helming Showtime’s critically-acclaimed miniseries Escape at Dannemora.

Severance is a 10-episode workplace thriller that is set at a company called Lumen Industries, who is looking to take work-life balance to a new level. Scott will portray the role of an employee named Mark. His character is being described as someone with a dark past trying to put himself back together.
The series is created by Dan Erickson, who will also as the series’ writer. Erickson. Chris Black, and Red Hour Productions’ Nicky Weinstock and Jackie Cohn will serve as executive producers with Scott also signing on to produce the series. This project will be the second collaboration between Scott and Stiller, who have co-starred in the 2013 film The Secret Life of Walter Mitty.

Some of the upcoming original shows that will debut on Apple’s recently launched streaming service include: the drama series Defending Jacob starring Chris Evans and Jaeden Martell; Mr. Corman starring Joseph Gorden-Levitt; the comedy series Ted Lasso which will be led by Jason Sudeikis; the sci-fi series adaptation of Foundation; and Oscar winner Octavia Spencer’s Truth Be Told.
