According to Collider, Emmy and Golden Globe winner Jon Hamm (Mad Men) is currently in negotiations to join MCU stars Sebastian Stan and Don Cheadle in Oscar-winning director Steven Soderbergh’s upcoming crime drama film Kill Switch. Hamm is set to portray the role of a cop, who’s trying to catch Stan and Cheadle’s characters. In addition, Cedric the Entertainer (Barbershop) is also reportedly in talks for an undisclosed role in the film.

Best known for his award-winning role as Don Draper in AMC’s Mad Men, Jon Hamm starred in four movies last year including the drama film The Report which was produced by Soderbergh and Clint Eastwood’s biopic film Richard Jewell. He will next be seen in Paramount’s highly-anticipated sequel Top Gun: Maverick which is set to hit the theaters this coming June.

Set in the 1950s Detroit, Kill Switch will follow a trio of criminals who carry out a home invasion, only to wonder if they’ve been double-crossed when the job goes sideways. Sebastian Stan (The Falcon and the Winter Soldier) and Don Cheadle (Avengers: Endgame) will be playing two of the three leads with fellow MCU alum Josh Brolin (No Country for Old Men) previously in talks for the third lead but backed out due to scheduling conflicts.

The spec script was written by Ed Solomon (Men in Black) with Casey Silver (Godless) set to serve as a producer on the film. Production is expected to begin this summer. The project will soon be shopped to studios with interest reportedly being high to the all-star cast, the strong screenplay, and Soderbergh being attached to the project.

He also recently produced Scott Z. Burns’ The Report and served as executive producer on Bill & Ted Face the Music.
