John Boyega: Star Wars Return a ‘No-Brainer’ if Key People Involved

Now that the dust has settled on 2019’s Star Wars: Episode IX – The Rise of Skywalker, you might be wondering if any of its cast members would want to hop back into the legendary franchise. Well, it seems one of the film’s lead actors, John Boyega, would under certain circumstances.

In a resurfaced clip from an interview conducted by Jake’s Takes in 2020 (via Twitter user @PalpyYT), Boyega says it would be a “no-brainer” if President of Lucasfilm Kathleen Kennedy, filmmaker J.J. Abrams, and the rest of the old team were involved.

“Whichever way, I am open to the conversation as long as it is Kathleen, J.J., and maybe someone else, and the team, it’s a no-brainer,” said Boyega.

In the same interview, prior to this quote he also states that he would be “more adamant about story,” and even co-stars Daisey Ridley and Oscar Isaac would agree with the sentiment. Whether the story was written by someone else or in collaboration with the people involved, it is one Boyega states would be one worth going back for.

“But this time, I’m sorry, I’d just be a bit more adamant about story. And I think everybody would. I think even Oscar, even Daisy,” says Boyega. “I think everybody would be kind of like if we are going to come back, hopefully, the story is worth us coming back. Or maybe, perhaps, some new characters that we help and we facilitate.”

Boyega played Finn in the Star Wars trilogy that finished the Skywalker saga. He has also appeared in films such as Pacific Rim: Uprising and Detroit.
