How Many Asteroid City End Mid & Post-Credits Scenes Are There?

Fans heading to theaters to watch Asteroid City might wonder whether they should stay after the credits start rolling for additional footage in a post-credits scene. Here’s what you need to know about Wes Anderson‘s latest movie and whether or not it has end, mid, or post-credits scenes.

Is there an Asteroid City post-credits scene?

Asteroid City has no end, mid, or post-credit scenes.

While more and more movies have some additional footage after the credits, that isn’t the case for Asteroid City. The film ends on a positive note, with everyone leaving the titular desert town put under quarantine after an alien incident during an astronomic convention. Still, fans might appreciate the movie’s final gag featuring a Road Runner lookalike carelessly passing by during the credits, a sort of Looney Tunes homage by Anderson. It’s worth mentioning that staying until the end of the credits it’s an excellent way to salute those who worked for this film.

Anderson’s latest effort premiered at the Cannes Film Festival earlier this year. The Houston-born director is best known for his extraordinary ability to handle an ensemble cast, and Asteroid City is no exception. Among many others, the film stars Scarlett Johansson, Tom Hanks, Jeffrey Wright, Tilda Swinton, Bryan Cranston, Edward Norton, Adrien Brody, Maya Hawke, Steve Carell, Willem Dafoe, Margot Robbie, and more.

The sophisticated story develops through a fictional play titled Asteroid City, set in a fictional American desert town circa 1955. Strange things are going down in town, forcing several characters to stay there. The protagonist (Jason Schwartzman) is a war photographer trying to overcome the loss of his wife while also dealing with his four children and his father-in-law. While in Asteroid City, he meets Midge Campbell (Johansson), a charming actress. At the same time, the film follows a television production about the same play in a sort of play-within-a-play technique.
