Hannibal Buress boards Spider-Man: Homecoming
Earlier today, we got a first look at the Spider-Man: Homecoming set in Atlanta, George and now even more casting has been revealed. According to Variety, comedian Hannibal Buress has come aboard the cast of director Jon Watts’ July 7, 2017 release.
Buress recently wrapped Paramount Pictures’ Baywatch and is voicing a character in Universal Pictures and Illumination Entertainment’s The Secret Life of Pets.
In other casting news, The Hollywood Reporter says that newcomers Isabella Amara, Jorge Lendeborg Jr. and J.J. Totah have also landed roles, though who they and Buress are playing is a mystery.
The ever-growing Spider-Man: Homecoming cast includes Tom Holland as Peter Parker, Marisa Tomei as Aunt May, Robert Downey Jr. as Tony Stark, Michael Keaton as a mystery villain (believed to be the Vulture), Logan Marshall-Green as a secondary villain, Kenneth Choi as Peter’s high school Principal and Zendaya as a character by the name of Michelle. There’s also mystery roles for Donald Glover, Martin Starr, Michael Barbieri, Laura Harrier and Tony Revolori.
“It really is a homecoming,” Tom Holland told the CinemaCon crowd during the film’s title announcement earlier this year, “because, throughout the movie, Peter is trying to find out who he is and where he belongs in this world.”
Scripted by Vacation writers and directors John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein, Spider-Man: Homecoming will, according to Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige, feature characters from throughout the MCU.
