New Movies on Blu-ray/DVD

Coco
Pixar’s latest triumph follows a young boy as he navigates Mexico’s Land of the Dead searching for his long-lost great grandfather. Murder on the Orient Express (exclusive clip)
Kenneth Branagh puts his own contemporary spin on Agatha Christie’s classic whodunnit, both directing and starring as the famous Belgian detective Hercule Poirot. Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri
This Best Picture nominee from writer/director Martin McDonagh stars Frances McDormand as a grieving mother who seeks justice for her daughter’s murder by taunting the local police. Woody Harrelson, Sam Rockwell, John Hawkes and Peter Dinklage co-star.

Just Getting Started
Director Ron Shelton (Tin Cup, Bull Durham) returns with this comedy starring Morgan Freeman as the manager of the luxury Palm Springs resort, and the ex-military charmer Leo (Tommy Lee Jones) who triggers a competition between for the affections of Suzie (Rene Russo).

Hangman (exclusive clip)
Decorated homicide detective Ray Archer (Al Pacino) partners with criminal profiler Will Ruiney (Karl Urban) to catch one of the city’s notoriously vicious serial killers. Check out an exclusive clip from the Blu-ray featuring Karl Urban below!

Criterion Corner

Tom Jones
The Criterion Collection has issued a new Blu-ray edition for this 1963 Best Picture Oscar winner starring a young Albert Finney as a rakish young man in the eighteenth century. It includes both the theatrical cut as well as the 1989 director’s cut, as well as documentaries on the film’s cinematography, the movie’s impact on British cinema and much more!

Reissues

Lady and the Tramp
This new Blu-ray edition of the 1955 Disney animated classic from The Walt Disney Signature Collection includes a Sin-Along version of the movie as well as looks inside Disney’s creative process while making the film.

Prey
Vinegar Syndrome once again outdoes itself with this deluxe Blu-ray release of this 1977 British oddity about an alien (Barry Stokes) who lands on Earth and befriends a lesbian couple (Glory Annen and Sally Faulkner) in order to evaluate humans as a source of food. Includes several interviews and a commentary track.

The Outlaw
Director Howard Hughes turned his well-endowed star Jane Russell into a Hollywood sex symbol with this controversial 1943 western, which also features Sheriff Pat Garrett (Thomas Mitchell) and Doc Holliday (Walter Huston).

The Oldest Profession
Kino Lorber reissues this anthology comedy film from 1967 that features six stories by six different directors relating to the theme of prostitution through the ages.

The Sect
This 1991 shocker co-written by Dario Argento and directed by the under-appreciated Michelle Soavi (Cemetery Man, The Church) includes a brand new 2K scan from the original negatives as well as interviews with Soavi and star Tomas Arana. It stars Kelly Curtis (sister of Jamie Lee) as an American in Germany who gets sucked into the devious practices of a satanic cult.

Scalpel
US television staple Robert Lansing (Star Trek, Alfred Hitchcock Presents, The Twilight Zone) stars as a deranged surgeon in this twisty-turny psychological thriller from Blood Rage director John Grissmer.

Black Eagle
One of Jean-Claude Van Damme’s earliest action roles as a KGB agent in a race with the CIA to track down a top secret laser tracking device in this 1988 flick arriving in a 2-disc special edition.

New on Digital HD

Call Me By Your Name
Amid the summer splendor of 1980’s Italy, Elio (Timothée Chalamet) and Oliver (Armie Hammer) discover the heady beauty of awakening desire that will alter their lives forever. Nominated for Best Picture, Best Actor (Chalamet), Best Adapted Screenplay, and Best Original Song (“Mystery of Love”) at this year’s Oscars. 

The Shape of Water
Director Guillermo del Toro’s Oscar-nominated fairy tale is set against the backdrop of Cold War-era America, where a lonely janitor forms a unique relationship with an amphibious creature being held in captivity.

Ferdinand
After he’s mistaken as a dangerous beast and torn from his home, a peace-loving bull named Ferdinand rallies a misfit team of friends for an epic adventure to return to his family.

Midnighters (exclusive clip)
