Jason Reitman’s Tully assembles an ensemble roster of talent to explore what happens during parenthood in the dramatic and blisteringly comedic film. Charlize Theron plays Marlo, a mother of three children including a newborn, whose brother Craig (Mark Duplass) gifts a night nanny to. Hoping that it will alleviate the stress in her life and strain on her relationship with her husband Drew (Ron Livingston), she’s encouraged to welcome in a young lady named Tully (Mackenzie Davis) to assist in night parenting duties like feeding and putting the baby to sleep so mom could get some rest at night. Hesitant to accept the help, Marlo eventually gives in and finds herself forming a unique bond with the young woman in a  fascinating and relatable way.

ComingSoon.net recently sat down with Ron Livingston and Mark Duplass to talk about the film. Both discussed developing their relationship as brothers-in-law and acting as support to the film’s main character and producer Charlize Theron. They also discussed as allies their roles in a shifting world of entertainment that’s ready to tell more stories through inclusive gazes.

Tully is a new comedy from Academy Award-nominated director Jason Reitman (Up in the Air) and Academy Award-winning screenwriter Diablo Cody (Juno). Marlo (Academy Award winner Charlize Theron), a mother of three including a newborn, is gifted a night nanny by her brother (Mark Duplass). Hesitant to the extravagance at first, Marlo comes to form a unique bond with the thoughtful, surprising, and sometimes challenging young nanny named Tully (Mackenzie Davis).

Focus Features will release Tully in theaters on May 4.
