Knockout City Boasts Original Soundtrack From The Soundlings

Knockout City Team Lineup Tiny

Knockout City is a fast-paced dodgeball game that pits teams of four players against each other in a retro-inspired cityscape. A change from the typical multiplayer deathmatch, the gameplay is all about avoiding incoming spheres, pulling off super moves, and sometimes curling up into a ball yourself in order to facilitate a sick elimination.

It only makes sense that Knockout City would have a unique soundtrack to complement this off-kilter gameplay. The process of creating said soundtrack is the subject of a development diary released by developers at Velan Studios today.

For this unique work, the team brought in music duo The Soundlings, artists that have worked on everything from Shazam to Lovecraft Country and more. With their help, the game boasts tunes that take inspiration from over 30 genres and come from all manner of fictional bands complete with unique personas that come alive on the in-game radio.

Players curious about this new music can take a listen on Spotify, Apple Music, and more starting today. Knockout City itself doesn’t release for around two weeks, but there might be an earworm or two you’ll already be familiar with by then on the available playlists.
