Interviews with Daisy Ridley and Oscar Isaac on Star Wars: The Force Awakens

When you meet Daisy Ridley face to face, one thing about her distinctly stands out – her smile. The young actress has a joy about her that spreads to her co-stars as well as her fans online. As we see her cry tears of joy at viewing the Star Wars trailers for the first time, clown around with John Boyega, or simply interact with fans, there’s an enthusiasm about her that we haven’t seen among Star Wars cast members in quite some time. She’s easy to love before you’ve seen her on the big screen as Rey.

Joining Daisy in Star Wars: The Force Awakens is Oscar Isaac, who plays Poe Dameron, the best pilot in the galaxy (depending on who you ask). While Isaac is a relatively unknown to many audiences, he’s been slowly building a career in Hollywood since 2002. And recently he’s taken on a number of big roles in films such as Ex Machina, Inside Llewyn Davis, and the upcoming X-Men: Age of Apocalyps” that prove he’s as versatile as he is engaging.

Just before I was able to interview Daisy and Oscar in Los Angeles, they did a Twitter Q&A the night before and proved that acting is not their only talent. Check out their duet here! Could we be seeing more music from the two in the future? Check out the interview to find out that and more.

Opening in theaters on December 18, 2015, Star Wars: The Force Awakens is set 30 years after the events of Return of the Jedi, and features a new generation of swashbuckling heroes and shadowy villains, as well as the return of fan-favorite smugglers, princesses, and Jedi.

Directed by J.J. Abrams, the highly-anticipated movie stars Harrison Ford, Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher, Adam Driver, Daisy Ridley, John Boyega, Oscar Isaac, Lupita Nyong’o, Andy Serkis, Domhnall Gleeson, Anthony Daniels, Peter Mayhew and Max Von Sydow. Kathleen Kennedy, J.J. Abrams and Bryan Burk are producing with Tommy Harper and Jason McGatlin serving as executive producers. The screenplay is by Lawrence Kasdan & J.J. Abrams and Michael Arndt.

Star Wars: The Force Awakens will be followed on December 16, 2016 by Rogue One: A Star Wars StoryStar Wars: Episode VIII on May 26, 2017, and the Han Solo anthology movie on May 25, 2018. No release dates have been announced for Star Wars: Episode IX or for the third anthology movie. It was recently confirmed, however, that Jurassic World‘s Colin Trevorrow will be helming the third Saga chapter.
