Netflix has just released the first trailer for Marianne, a new French-language series that looks outright terrifying. You can check out the trailer in the player below!
When a novelist realizes her terrifying stories are coming true, she returns to her hometown to face the demons from her past that inspire her writing. To make matters worse, the demon appears to take the form of an elderly woman, a quintessential staple of horror films, from The Shining all the way to that trailer for IT Chapter Two.
The series was created by Samuel Bodin and stars Victoire Du Bois, Lucie Boujenah and Tiphaine Daviot.

The horror series comes on the heels of The Haunting of Hill House, which has been spun into an anthology series, which is set to continue with The Haunting of Bly Manor in 2020. In addition, they’ve released scores of new content to appeal to global audiences, including the German-language sci-fi/horror series Dark.
Marianne will be ready to terrify audiences the world over when the first season kicks off September 13 only on Netflix.
