Jason Momoa and Dave Bautista Developing a Buddy Cop Movie

Last week, Guardians of the Galaxy star Dave Bautista took to Twitter to share that he and Jason Momoa should star in a buddy cop movie which would be in the same vein as the Lethal Weapon films.

Now, during a recent interview at The Late Late Show with James Corden, when asked about his thoughts on Bautista’s movie idea, the Aquaman star revealed that the former WWE wrestler had actually reached out to him earlier this week to discuss the project. He went on to confirm that they’re currently trying to develop the buddy cop movie, which would potentially be set in Hawaii.

“I’m not even gonna lie to you… I’m not on Twitter, but he literally texted me about four days ago, going, ‘We need to do a buddy cop film,'” Momoa teased. “We love each other — we met on [the series] See, we’re [in] Dune together, and so I said, ‘Absolutely.’ And he said, ‘Let’s do it in Hawaii.’ I’m like, do it, [I’ve] got an idea. So it’s off to the races now, we’re doing it.”

Meanwhile, the second one is Warner Bros. Pictures’ long-awaited Dune remake which is currently slated for an October 22, 2021 release.

Bautista is no stranger to the buddy cop genre as he previously in action films such as 2019’s Stuber with Kumail Nanjiani, and last year’s My Spy with Chloe Coleman.
